AUNT HYMA!
It matters not how the call goes out
She's the person expected to respond
Just as she is called in different ways
So she has very many different tasks
She's expected to be an encyclopedia
And times even a dictionary
A supplier of food and usually the cook
Expected to comfort when things go wrong
And celebrate when things are well
A good listener and wise talker
To name a few of what is expected of her
There are many things besides
All needing to be done
Within the same minutes of the asking
And yet when you look in her tired face
Her eyes show the sheer joy and pride
That is in her heart for you
And you see her for what she is
And not what she does
The one person without whose care
You wouldn't be what or where you are today
And you never want to stop thanking her
Even more so when she is not your mother
But a beloved aunt!
